Neighborhood Information
Gramercy Park, NYC Luxury Short-Term Rentals & Furnished Apartments
Gramercy is a quiet, exclusive neighborhood in NYC full of tree-lined streets, beautiful 19th-century townhouses and brownstones, chic cafes and fenced garden spaces. The neighborhood is perhaps most well known for being the home of Gramercy Park, one of only two private parks in the city of New York. Madison Square Park, Union Square and the Flatiron District are within walking distance, with connections to numerous subway lines.
Gramercy is a significant hub for the performing arts. Head to The Stand for live comedy, or catch a musical performance at Mason Hall or Gramercy Theatre. For still art, the intimate Sidney Mishkin Gallery hosts five yearly shows specializing in 20th-century art.
Gramercy is named for Gramercy Park, a two-acre private park only available for use by its surrounding residents. However, the sidewalks along the park are popular among the public for jogging, taking a stroll or walking the dog. Stuyvesant Park is a popular public park in the neighborhood, as well as Peter’s Field for basketball and playgrounds. Residents are also just steps away from jogging and biking trails on the FDR along the East River.
Whether you’re craving a slice of pizza, street food or a steak dinner, Gramercy Park’s diverse restaurant scene will satisfy any appetite. Quaint cafes and bistros with sidewalk seating can be found on nearly every block, as can award-winning restaurants by celebrity chefs.
